So, it should be better to use "bicubic" to enlarge an image and "nearest neighbor" to reduce it. This is not so simple unfortunately, as the "nearest neighbor" reduction gives unpleasant images with too much pixel to pixel modulation. The intermediate "bilinear" gives more natural looking pictures, but "bicubic" should definetely be avoided, as it blurs the image. A little unsharp masking (with radius <1) helps also in this case.
As a conclusion, always use "bicubic" interpolation to enlarge an image, and "bilinear" (+slight unsharp masking) to reduce its size.

Popytam sa starsich a skusenejsich o radu. Ta fotka stratila ostrost az rescalovanim v Gimpe. Ako downscalujete fotky ?

Mozno .. na tych 150-200m ci kolko tazko povedat. Ked tam hore stal vyzeral ako xlap, z profilu som si tiez nie moc isty.
