Digital editor would allow you to completely process your picture in all fundamental aspects, such as brightnes, contrast, sharpness/blurring, colours, resizing, etc. Here, I would try to brighten up the owl's feet, then the whole picture, then a bit more contrast, then sharpness. The bird's eyes are captivating!
Gimp is an image editor similar to Photoshop, but free to download. Sometimes (e.g. before resizing the image) it is adviceble to sharpen the image in an image editor.
sorry but i have no idea about what is gimp... ...I just know photoshop, but I´m using nothing... ...in fact I don´t understand so much what is the sharpness, too
